Dani Ammer
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and afterwards graduated from The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University. Experience comes from constantly learning, doing, and refining, and my drive to always educate myself continues to this day where I continue to learn through online programs, classes, and websites.
I've worked at multiple organizations, start-ups, and in freelance settings. My most recent experience has been with Q2 as a User Experience Designer, where I worked in the Fintec space for the past 6 years, I am knowledgeable about the delicate balance between security and style. I have worked in both lo-fi and high fidelity mockups, spec sheets and annotations, design systems, documentation and presentation, used multiple tools, defined design requirements and collaborated with developers to ensure a smooth pipeline. I have worked in the research space to define products, solidify designs, and dig further into defining our users.
I also hold a CPACC certification for accessibility design and continue to drive for improved accessibility standards.
In my spare time, I create illustrative work and sew all of my own clothing. My previous experience in writing and games has garnered awards and attention for my creative writing and in a successful Kickstarter campaign.
My creative approach is always to listen and absorb the information before beginning. Collaboration with my clients, understanding the problem at hand, and focusing on the user's experience, allows for a richer design. I create multiple iterations, testing constantly, to ensure the design addresses the points of friction I am trying to solve. I hope this method of empathy-based design appeals to you.
